Neptune High School Football

Established: 1904

Head coach: Mark Ciccotelli, (2011-present).

Career record: 11-1 at Neptune, 57-49 overall. Ciccotelli led Neptune to its first Central Jersey Group III title since 1998 in 2011 in his first season. He led Freehold to Central Jersey Group III titles in 2008 and 2010 after spending seven seasons with the Colonials.

Prior head coach: Don Sofilkanich (2010)

Career record: 6-4 and one state playoff appearance in one season at Neptune. Went 33-3 in three seasons and won three Central Jersey Group I titles and two division titles at rival Asbury Park before being hired at Neptune after the 2009 season. Left Neptune to become the head coach Bishop Ahr.

Prior coach: John Fiore (2006-2009). Career record at Neptune: 26-16. Career record overall: 62-40-1. Now the head coach at Montclair High School, Fiore led the Scarlet Fliers to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group III semifinals in 2008 and 2009 after they had not made the state playoffs since 1998.

Applebey (1915). Career record: 0-6.

Fred Reichey (1917). Career record: 4-2-1.

Richard Tilton (1975-1981). Career record: 19-43-1.

Joe Bongiavanni (1982-1984). Career record: 13-14.

John Amabile (1985-2000). Career record: 117-43-3. Won the school's only three NJSIAA state sectional titles (1995, 1997, 1998), had berths in five state sectional finals, had nine state playoff appearances and won five straight division titles (1994-1998). Finished No. 1 in the state in 1995. Coached in program's 300th win in 1987 and 400th win in 2000. Inducted into the Shore Football Coaches Foundation Hall of Fame in 2010.

Tom Walsh (2001-2005). Career record: 21-29.

John Fiore (2006-2009). Career record: 26-16. Playoff appearances in 2008 and 2009.

Don Sofilkanich (2010). Career record: 6-4. One playoff appearance.
