Southern Regional High School Football


Head coach: Chuck Donohue Sr. (1998-present)

Career record: 209-146-4 in 36 seasons overall, 70-63 at Southern. Donohue Sr. led the Rams to their only state sectional final appearance in 2008. He is one of three active Shore Conference coaches with more than 200 career wins.

He started his career at St. Joseph's-Hammonton from 1974-80, where he went 44-20-1 with three division titles, four state playoff appearances, and two trips to the South Jersey Parochial B final, with his first win being a 22-0 triumph over Wildwood in 1974. From there, he went to Haddon Heights from 1981-85, going 26-20-1 and taking them to the South Jersey Group II final in 1985. Then it was on to Buena from 1986-97, where his teams went 69-43-2 and won the 1988 South Jersey Group II title.

At Southern, Donohue has led the Rams to five of their seven state playoff appearances in school history, and is the only Southern coach to win a state playoff game. In 2008, he led the Rams to their first state sectional final appearance in program history, as they fell 21-14 to undefeated Mainland in the South Jersey Group IV championship game while winning a school-record 10 games.
